Waunakee Elevates Assistant Coach to Coordinator Role
Waunakee High School has promoted assistant coach Ryan Thompson to coordinator of the Warriors football program, effective immediately. Thompson, a three-season veteran of the coaching staff, has developed a strong reputation for identifying and cultivating talent within the program. The Warriors, a 4A powerhouse, have posted a 23-7 record over the past three seasons, including a 2022 playoff appearance. Thompson's elevation is expected to have a significant impact on the team's recruiting efforts, as well as its competitiveness within the Badger North Conference. With Thompson at the helm, the Warriors are poised to continue their upward trajectory and make a deep run in the postseason. The move is seen as a strategic move by head coach Pat Edwards to bolster the program's leadership and prepare for the upcoming season.
