Sprint to Success: Laramie Plainsmen's Speed Drill for 4A Programs

๐Ÿ“ Laramie PlainsmenยทMonday, July 20, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

For 4A programs like the Laramie Plainsmen, developing speed and agility is crucial for success on the field. One effective drill to improve S players' quickness is the 'Resistance Band Shuttle.' This drill targets the legs, glutes, and core, translating to faster acceleration and deceleration in games. To set up, place two cones 10 yards apart with a resistance band stretched between them. S players start at one cone, then sprint to the other, quickly changing direction while maintaining tension on the band. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'explosive acceleration' and 'aggressive deceleration.' Focus on proper footwork and body positioning to generate maximum speed. This drill will help S players build the speed and agility needed to dominate on the field.
