Cade Smith Commits to Navy Football Program
Cheyenne Central linebacker Cade Smith has committed to play football at the United States Naval Academy. Smith, a rising senior and four-year starter for the Indians, chose Navy over other Division I offers. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker is expected to fit into Navy's 3-4 scheme, where he can utilize his athleticism and instincts to support the team's linebacking corps. Smith's commitment fills a depth chart need for the Midshipmen, who are rebuilding their linebacking unit. Academically, Smith is well-suited for the Naval Academy's rigorous program, boasting a 3.8 GPA and scoring 1240 on the SAT. Smith previously held offers from Wyoming and Air Force before decommitting to focus on his recruitment. He is expected to enroll at Navy in the summer of 2027 and participate in the team's fall camp.
