As the 2026 high school football season approaches, Eagle River Wolves' standout athlete, Sarah Johnson, is shifting her focus to flag football in pursuit of college opportunities. With the inaugural season of NCAA Division 1 flag football set to kick off in 2028, Johnson is targeting top programs offering verified scholarships. The University of Nebraska, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, is a prime destination, offering a Power 4 presence in the Big Ten Conference. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse, and Keiser University, Florida, an active recruiter, are also on Johnson's radar. Midland University, Nebraska, has expressed interest in her multisport background. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is developing its program, although scholarships have not yet been announced.
