Elevate Your Pass Rush: DE Drill for 4A Programs

๐Ÿ“ Eagle River WolvesยทMonday, July 13, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The 'Inside-Out' Rush Drill is a game-changer for defensive ends at 4A programs like Eagle River Wolves. This drill improves speed, agility, and hand placement. Set up cones in a zig-zag pattern, 10 yards apart. DEs start at the first cone, then rush inside to the second cone, using a 'pop' step to generate power. Next, they burst outside to the third cone, maintaining their speed. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues: 'Inside-out, pop-step, maintain speed.' This drill translates to game performance by mirroring the DE's natural rush path. By practicing this motion, DEs improve their ability to quickly change direction and generate power, making them more effective pass rushers.
