Buccaneer Blitz: 7A CBs Get Ready for Season with 'The Circle Drill'
This summer, top cornerbacks at 7A powerhouses like Hoover Buccaneers are gearing up for another dominant season with a key drill: 'The Circle Drill'. This intense workout targets footwork, agility, and reaction time โ essential skills for shutting down receivers in the open field. Here's how to run it: Set up five cones in a circle, 5 yards apart. Start in the center cone, shuffling to each cone in sequence, then back to the center. Complete 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Quick feet, quick hands' and 'Stay low, stay fast'. This drill translates to game performance by improving CBs' ability to quickly close gaps and stay in phase with receivers. By mastering 'The Circle Drill', Buccaneer cornerbacks will be ready to take on the best of the AHSAA in the fall.
