Central-Phenix City Red Devils' standout flag football player, 17-year-old Samantha Johnson, is gaining attention from top collegiate programs. According to sources, Johnson has received verified interest from the University of Nebraska's inaugural 2028 flag football team, coached by Liz and Katie Sowers. Additionally, Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, have also expressed interest in recruiting Johnson. As a rising junior, Johnson can begin taking official visits and meeting with coaches from these programs. Midland University, Nebraska, is also monitoring Johnson's progress. While UT Arlington is in development, they have not yet begun offering scholarships. Johnson's recruitment highlights the growing opportunities for female flag football players.
