Explosive Burst Drill for 7A Running Backs
This summer, Bryant Hornets running backs can take their game to the next level with the Explosive Burst Drill. This high-intensity workout targets the muscles used in quick changes of direction and acceleration. To set up the drill, place 5-6 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Players start at the first cone, then sprint to the second cone, exploding off the ground and changing direction. Coaches cue: 'Quick feet, fast hands.' Players repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. This drill translates to game performance by improving reaction time and explosion off the line of scrimmage. By incorporating the Explosive Burst Drill into their training, Hornets RBs will be better equipped to break tackles and gain yards after contact.
