WR Prospects: What Coaches Look for on Junior Day Visits

๐Ÿ“ Pulaski Academy BruinsยทTuesday, July 14, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

When attending a junior day visit, wide receiver prospects at 5A programs like Pulaski Academy Bruins should be prepared to showcase their skills and demonstrate their football IQ. Coaches look for players who can separate from defenders, create space, and make plays downfield. To stand out, WRs should focus on demonstrating their ability to run precise routes and create separation at the line of scrimmage. For example, a coach may ask a prospect to run a 5-yard out route and then quickly pivot to a 10-yard deep post route. The prospect should be able to execute this sequence in 2.5 seconds or less, showcasing their ability to quickly change direction and accelerate.
