Bruins' Quarterback Hunter Taylor Commits to Texas Tech
Hunter Taylor, a 5A quarterback from the Cherry Creek Bruins, has committed to play for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Taylor, a Class of 2025 prospect, threw for 2,500 yards and 25 touchdowns in his junior season. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound signal-caller said Texas Tech's offense, which features a pro-style scheme, aligns with his strengths. 'I'm excited about the opportunity to play in a system that emphasizes pocket passing and play-action,' Taylor said. 'I think I can excel in Coach Brown's offense.' Taylor also cited the academic program at Texas Tech, which offers a strong business and engineering curriculum. He had previously committed to the University of Colorado but reopened his recruitment in January. Taylor is expected to compete for a backup spot behind starter Tyler Shough in the fall.
