Shelton Gaels Girls Flag Football Players Target New Scholarship Opportunities Amid CIAC Expansion

๐Ÿ“ Shelton GaelsยทWednesday, July 8, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As CIAC's flag football pilot district expansion continues to shape the Texas high school landscape, Shelton Gaels players are taking note of emerging scholarship pathways. The University of Nebraska's inaugural 2028 season, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers, has sparked interest among top players. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse offering up to 12 NAIA scholarships, is another prime destination. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are actively recruiting talented flag football athletes. While UT Arlington's NCAA D1 program is still in development, it's expected to offer scholarships in the near future. Gaels players who excel in summer camps and combine events can position themselves for these opportunities. Coaches and athletes are advised to research and reach out to these programs directly for more information.
