Dowling Catholic's Emma Johnson, a standout flag football prospect, has caught the attention of several collegiate programs. The 4A West Des Moines native is drawing interest from the University of Nebraska, which will launch its inaugural NCAA Division 1 flag football program in 2028 under the guidance of coaches Liz and Katie Sowers. Additionally, Johnson has received inquiries from Ottawa University, Kansas, which offers up to 12 NAIA flag football scholarships, as well as Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, both of which are active recruiters in the sport.
