Tightening Up the Tight End Position: Boyle County Rebels' Pre-Season Drill

๐Ÿ“ Boyle County RebelsยทSunday, July 12, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Boyle County Rebels are gearing up for another successful 4A season, and their tight end position is a key factor in their success. To prepare their TEs for the upcoming season, the Rebels' coaching staff has developed a drill that targets flexibility, agility, and hand-eye coordination. The 'TE Tunnel' drill involves setting up three cones in a zig-zag pattern, with a quarterback or coach at the end of the tunnel. Players must weave through the cones, then catch a pass from the QB while maintaining balance and control. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, with a 30-second rest between sets. Coaching cues include 'keep your eyes on the ball' and 'stay low and explosive.' This drill translates to game performance by improving TEs' ability to create separation and secure passes in tight spaces.
