Tiger Tough: St. Xavier OL Drill for Dominant Play

๐Ÿ“ St. Xavier TigersยทMonday, July 13, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

To prepare St. Xavier OL players for the physicality of 6A competition, we're introducing the 'Tiger Trap' drill. This exercise targets footwork, hand placement, and strength. Set up a series of cones in a zigzag pattern, 5 yards apart. OL players will start at one end, then weave through the cones, focusing on keeping their feet shoulder-width apart and their elbows high. After completing 3 sets of 10 reps, players will transition to a strength component: a 3-point stance, with their feet shoulder-width apart and their hands on the ground. They'll then explosively drive upwards, using their legs to generate power. This drill translates to game performance by improving agility, hand placement, and the ability to quickly change direction. Coaches can adjust the difficulty by adding or removing cones.
