Marcus Wilson Commits to UTSA
Trinity Shamrocks cornerback Marcus Wilson has committed to play for the University of Texas at San Antonio, the school announced Thursday. Wilson, a 6A Class of 2026 prospect, chose the Roadrunners over other Division I offers. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound defensive back is expected to bolster UTSA's secondary, which employs a multiple-defensive-back scheme. Wilson's athleticism and ball skills should allow him to contribute immediately, potentially competing for a starting role. The Shamrocks' defense, which Wilson has been a key part of, averaged 22 points allowed per game last season. UTSA's academic program, which offers a range of business and engineering majors, also appealed to Wilson. He had previously committed to another Division I program but reopened his recruitment in April.
