Isaiah Brown Commits to SMU
Covington Catholic Colonels defensive end Isaiah Brown has committed to play for SMU in the Class of 2027. The 5A standout chose the Mustangs over other Power Five offers from Louisville and Purdue. Brown's commitment to SMU is a result of the program's 3-4 defensive scheme, which aligns with his athletic abilities. The Mustangs' depth chart at defensive end is expected to be competitive, providing Brown with a chance to contribute immediately. Additionally, SMU's academic program, which offers a strong business and engineering curriculum, was a factor in Brown's decision. Brown previously held an offer from Louisville but decommitted in April to focus on his recruitment. He is set to report to SMU's summer camp in August, where he will work with the coaching staff to develop his skills and prepare for the upcoming season.
