Bears' Davis Brings Instant Impact
Catholic High's Cameron Davis hauled in 12 receptions for 215 yards in his first two games as a Bear, averaging 107.5 yards per outing. The Class of 2027 wide receiver transferred from a 5A program in Texas, where he was a backup, but quickly earned a starting role in the LHSAA's 5A division. Davis' production has been a welcome addition to the Bears' offense, which struggled to find consistency last season. At 6-foot-2, Davis' size and speed make him a difficult matchup for opposing cornerbacks. He has shown the ability to make plays down the field, with a long reception of 45 yards already this season. Scouts are watching to see if Davis can continue to produce at a high level, particularly in the red zone, where he has yet to score a touchdown. His ability to separate from defenders and make plays in traffic will be key factors in his development as a top-tier receiver in the LHSAA's 5A division.
