FridayNightPulse Training Tip: Catholic High Bears RB Drill

๐Ÿ“ Catholic High BearsยทSunday, July 26, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This drill, dubbed the 'Bears Blast,' is designed to improve RBs' acceleration and change of direction at 5A programs like Catholic High. The setup: 3 cones in a zig-zag pattern, 5 yards apart. Players start at the first cone, then sprint to the second, make a 90-degree cut, and accelerate to the third cone. Complete 3 sets of 5 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues: 'Fast feet, quick hands,' emphasizing explosive acceleration and sharp cuts. This drill translates to game performance by replicating the quick changes of direction and rapid acceleration RBs face on the field. By mastering the Bears Blast, Catholic High RBs can gain a competitive edge in the 5A division.
