Malik Hall Commits to UTSA Roadrunners
Shelby Golden Lions safety Malik Hall has committed to the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners. The Class of 2027 standout, who stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 190 pounds, chose UTSA over other Division I offers. Hall's commitment comes after a strong showing at the NCHSAA's annual Football Combine, where he recorded a 4.5-second 40-yard dash and a 35-inch vertical jump. The Golden Lions' defense, which returns several key starters, is expected to feature a 4-2-5 scheme in 2026, a system that aligns with Hall's skills and versatility. As a freshman, Hall will have the opportunity to compete for a starting spot in the secondary and contribute to a Roadrunners team that finished 6-6 in 2025. UTSA's strong academic programs and commitment to student-athlete success also played a significant role in Hall's decision.
