Building a Stronger O-Line: The Centennial Hawks' Block-Shuffle Drill

๐Ÿ“ Centennial HawksยทMonday, July 20, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

As the 6A season approaches, the Centennial Hawks' coaching staff is putting their linemen through a grueling block-shuffle drill to improve their strength, agility, and technique. The drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets. Players start in a 3-point stance, then explosively block a defender before quickly shuffling 5 yards to the side. The key coaching cue is to emphasize a 'quick, light' shuffle, focusing on speed and agility over raw power. This drill translates to game performance by mirroring the high-intensity, back-and-forth battles that occur on the line. By improving their ability to quickly change direction and maintain their balance, the Hawks' O-line will be better equipped to handle the physical demands of 6A competition.
