The Long Island Lutheran Crusaders, a perennial powerhouse in New York's AA division, are gearing up for their inaugural season. As the sport continues to grow, local flag football prospects are turning their attention to verified scholarship programs. Ottawa University, Kansas, and Keiser University, Florida, are among the top NAIA destinations. Both schools offer up to 12 scholarships and have a proven track record of developing talent. For Crusaders flag football players, a visit to one of these camps could be the first step toward securing a scholarship. Liz and Katie Sowers, the University of Nebraska's inaugural head coaches, have announced their Power 4 school's entry into the NCAA D1 flag football landscape in 2028. Meanwhile, UT Arlington is developing its program, but has yet to offer scholarships. Midland University, Nebraska, is an active recruiter in the NAIA. Local prospects should focus on building relationships with these coaches to increase their chances of securing a spot on a top NAIA roster.
