Power Wedge Drill for Coatesville Red Raiders OL

๐Ÿ“ Coatesville Red RaidersยทFriday, July 10, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

This summer, Coatesville Red Raiders OL players can improve their strength and technique with the Power Wedge Drill. Set up a large block of foam or a heavy sled with a 2-inch wide 'wedge' in the center. Divide the OL into pairs, with one player as the blocker and the other as the defender. The blocker must drive through the wedge, keeping their feet shoulder-width apart and their back straight. The defender must try to hold their ground. Perform 3 sets of 10 reps, resting for 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'drive through the wedge' and 'keep your feet wide.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a lineman's ability to generate power and control in the trenches.
