Rapid Release Drill for S Players at La Salle Academy Rams

๐Ÿ“ La Salle Academy RamsยทSaturday, July 25, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Rapid Release Drill is a high-intensity exercise designed to improve the speed and agility of S players at Div I programs like La Salle Academy Rams. This drill involves a series of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds of rest between sets. Players start in a defensive stance, then quickly release into a sprint, focusing on explosive acceleration. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'release the hips.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a player's ability to quickly close gaps and cover receivers. To execute the drill, have players start at the 10-yard line and sprint to the 20-yard line, then immediately change direction and sprint back to the 10-yard line. Repeat for 3 sets.
