Rough Riders CBs: Master the 'Mirror, Match, Move' Drill

๐Ÿ“ Roosevelt Rough RidersยทThursday, July 2, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

To dominate at 11AA, Roosevelt Rough Riders cornerbacks must excel in press coverage. This summer, focus on the 'Mirror, Match, Move' drill to sharpen your skills. Set up a 10-yard line with two cones, 3 yards apart. Have a partner or coach act as a receiver. Start in a backpedal, mirroring the receiver's movements. As they reach the cones, match their speed and direction. Then, quickly change direction and move to the receiver's hip. Repeat for 3 sets of 10 reps. Coaching cues: 'Mirror their feet, match their speed, and move to the hip.' This drill translates to game performance by improving your ability to stay with receivers in press coverage, read their movements, and react quickly to changes in direction.
