Speed Development for 11A S Players: The Titan Shuttle Drill

๐Ÿ“ Tea Area TitansยทTuesday, July 7, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Tea Area Titans' coaching staff has implemented a high-intensity shuttle drill to enhance the speed and agility of their S players. The Titan Shuttle Drill consists of 3 sets of 10 reps, with 30 seconds rest between sets. Players start at the 5-yard line, then sprint to the 10-yard line, change direction, and sprint back to the 5-yard line. As they approach the 5-yard line, they must accelerate to top speed, using their inside foot to cut and plant. Coaching cues include 'explosive start,' 'quick change of direction,' and 'finish strong.' This drill translates to game performance by improving a player's ability to quickly change direction and accelerate in tight spaces, allowing them to evade defenders and make plays in the open field.
