Speed and Agility for 6A S Players: The Tiger's Triangle Drill

๐Ÿ“ Whitehaven TigersยทTuesday, July 28, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

At Whitehaven High School, our S players are working on the Tiger's Triangle Drill to improve their speed, agility, and reaction time. This drill is designed to challenge our athletes and translate to game performance. Here's how to run the drill: Set up three cones in a triangle formation, with each cone spaced 5 yards apart. Players start at the top cone, then sprint to the bottom cone, cutting sharply to the left or right at the midpoint. After completing the cut, players accelerate back to the top cone. Perform 3 sets of 5 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include: 'Square your body to the cone', 'Drive through the cut', and 'Accelerate out of the turn'. This drill will help our S players improve their ability to quickly change direction and maintain top-end speed, making them a threat in the open field.
