Marcus Harris Commits to Houston Football
Marcus Harris, a 6-foot safety from DeSoto High School, has committed to play football at the University of Houston. Harris, a Class of 2027 prospect, chose the Cougars over other top programs. The DeSoto Eagles' standout excels in a 4-2-5 defensive scheme, which aligns with Houston's defensive philosophy. Harris is expected to contribute immediately, as the Cougars' secondary depth chart is expected to be bolstered by his arrival. Additionally, Harris is drawn to Houston's strong academic programs, which offer a range of majors in engineering and business. Harris previously held offers from several Power Five programs, including Texas and Oklahoma, but opted to commit to the Cougars. He is considered one of the top safeties in the state of Texas for the 2027 recruiting class.
