Katy Tigers Girls Flag Football Players Target New Scholarship Opportunities with UIL Pilot District Expansion

๐Ÿ“ Katy TigersยทSaturday, July 18, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The UIL's pilot district expansion for girls flag football is poised to create new scholarship pathways for Texas athletes. As the inaugural 2028 season approaches, the University of Nebraska is at the forefront of Power 4 programs, led by coaches Liz and Katie Sowers. Nebraska offers scholarships for flag football student-athletes. Ottawa University, Kansas, a national powerhouse, also offers up to 12 flag football scholarships. Keiser University, Florida, and Midland University, Nebraska, are active recruiters in the NAIA. UT Arlington, a developing NCAA D1 program, is based in Texas but has not yet offered scholarships. Katy Tigers players can explore these options by attending summer camps and reaching out to coaches directly.
