Hunter Smith Commits to Iowa State
Katy Tigers quarterback Hunter Smith has committed to Iowa State University, the school announced Friday. Smith, a Class of 2025 prospect, chose the Cyclones over offers from several Power Five programs. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound signal-caller is expected to fill a void at quarterback for Iowa State, which lost its top two quarterbacks to graduation. Smith's athletic fit is a key factor in his decision, as he believes the Cyclones' pro-style offense aligns with his playing style. Additionally, he is drawn to Iowa State's strong academic program, which offers a range of engineering and business courses. Smith had previously committed to Texas A&M in February but decommitted in May after a coaching change. He is expected to enroll at Iowa State in the fall and compete for a starting role in 2025.
