Elevate Your Edge: Graham-Kapowsin Style S Drill for 4A Programs

๐Ÿ“ Graham-Kapowsin EaglesยทSunday, July 26, 2026ยทFridayNightPulse Insider

The Graham-Kapowsin Eagles' coaching staff emphasizes the importance of quick reactions and spatial awareness for their S players. To improve these skills, they employ a drill that combines agility ladder work with reactive training. Set up 5 agility ladders in a zigzag pattern, with cones at each end. Players start at one end, performing 3 ladder drills (inside, outside, and Ickey shuffle) before reacting to a coach's whistle and sprinting to the opposite cone. They then change direction and sprint back to the starting point. Perform 3 sets of 5 reps, resting 30 seconds between sets. Coaching cues include 'quick feet' and 'stay low.' This drill translates to game performance by enhancing players' ability to rapidly change direction and read the defense.
