Carson Smith Commits to Army
St. Marys Blue Devils Class of 2027 linebacker Carson Smith has committed to play for the Army Black Knights. Smith, a 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete, chose Army due to the team's 3-4 defensive scheme, which aligns with his strengths as a pass-rushing linebacker. He also cited the opportunity to contribute immediately on a depth chart that lost several key players from last season. Additionally, Smith is drawn to Army's rigorous academic program, which will challenge him to excel both on and off the field. Smith had previously considered several other Division I programs, but ultimately decided that Army's unique blend of athletics and academics made it the best fit for his future. He will be the first Blue Devils player to join the Army roster in recent memory.
